Ultraviolet

verse 1

My fate, it never rated.

Just a weight inside my mind.

Never fading from the time the evil is upon you.

And the summer love was broken up.

We were trading words for lies.

Another fire burns bright but no chance to make it through the night.

Pre-Chorus

Leaving your demons alone.

Breathe in the antidote.

All of this gone, and now I’m on my own.

Dreaming in ultraviolets,

Freezing, your cover’s blown.

(Break)

Pre-Chorus

Leaving your demons alone.

Breathe in the antidote.

All of this gone, and now I’m on my own.

Dreaming in ultraviolets,

Freezing, your cover’s blown.

Hook

See all the unseen in the new light.

There’s more to hope for than we’re told.

Dream all you would be in the moon’s right glow,

As so long ago.

See all the unseen in the true light.

There’s more still in store than we know.

Think all you would see in the moon’s right glow,

As so long ago.

(Break)

HP Lovecraft Quote (From Beyond 1920)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN!?

I was mostly inspired to write this song by a line in the story From Beyond by H.P. Lovecraft... “Do you know what that is?” he whispered. “That is ultraviolet.” He chuckled oddly at my surprise. “You thought ultraviolet was invisible, and so it is—but you can see that and many other invisible things now."

I continued the run with the themes of seeing the unseen, and different horror-based tropes and ideas.
